Self-improvement is a long journey that is to be followed consistently.
When we talk about self-improvement, what comes to mind first is that we have to make a strict routine. And then we have to follow it very strictly, like going to the gym every day, developing a top-notch Communication skill, or going to the doctor for a full head-to-toe check-up, which could be very expensive sometimes. But what if I say we don't need to do this at the very start of our journey? Then you will ask me, "What should we do then?" Let me explain to you a very simple thing:
"When you do a simple task daily or take small steps daily towards your respective goals, that is how you start". Some of the very popular authors or philosophers also say that, like James Clear says in his book Atomic Habits:
"He emphasises the "power of continuous improvement," stating that getting just 1% better every day results in being 37 times better after a year due to the power of compounding. "
Other figures who have expressed similar sentiments include:
- Robert Collier: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out".
- Jeff Olson: In his book The Slight Edge, Olson states, “Anytime you see what looks like a breakthrough, it is always the end result of a long series of little things, done consistently over time".
The very important topic that I am going to cover in my blog is as follows:
- Your Daily Habits.
- Your Environment.
- Your Motive.
Today, I am going to cover Topic 1, which is your daily habits.
Trust me or not, your daily habit says a lot about you. People
can easily infer your daily habits by looking at you. To change your daily routine, you don't need a higher amount of discipline; you just need to follow the most basic steps every day, like a daily habit of waking up at 6Am and brushing your teeth 2 times a day, following a good skincare routine, eating your breakfast, and taking your shower, etc., every single day because from here, only you will go to more advanced steps to build yourself healthier and more presentable in front of others.
- Good Habits Vs Bad Habits.
As there are 2 sides to a coin, we all know, there are two types of habits:
1.)Good Habits and
2.)Bad Habits
Good habits are those that help us grow, while Bad habits are
those behaviours that are detrimental to one's physical and
mental health, well-being, or productivity. Examples are
procrastination, overspending, poor sleep habits, etc. In today's Gen Z generation, these things are common, even I myself also suffering from the same things. So the easiest way to stop BAD HABITS is by starting small and making them easy to perform, focusing on consistency over perfection. Gradually build up the habits, link them to an existing routine, and set up YOUR ENVIRONMENT to support the new behaviours. Reward yourself for small victories to stay motivated and seek support from others to stay accountable.
Conclusion:-
